Climb the ladder upstairs to a huge roof deck with 4 Adirondack chairs, and the Pilot House, with a wooden steering wheel and a couch/twin bed.

The Mermaid Queen is in Sausalito's "banana belt," often sunny when there is fog in San Francisco and Mill Valley. There are numerous hiking trails nearby, and you may paddle out in the kayaks or pedal away on the great Marin bike trail or to the Sausalito Ferry for the half-hour cruise to San Francisco. Seals, herons and egrets abound.

Near downtown Sausalito, the dock is 15 minutes by car to San Francisco, or a ten minute walk to the Ferry. Numerous restaurants, stores, live music, and even a health food store are in the neighborhood. Bar Bocce, a restaurant nearby, has a fire pit, beach, bocce ball court, and the best pizza in town! Salito's makes amazing crab cakes, and their crab chowder is wonderful. Indian, Thai, Italian and Japanese restaurants are two blocks away.

It can be sunny and warm here one moment, then foggy and moody the next. The location is amazing, as it's 15 minutes from San Francisco, 35 minutes from Sonoma wine country and 35 minutes to West Marin and the magical beaches out there. Muir Woods and the Golden Gate National Recreation areas are minutes away and there are great restaurants and bars nearby.

Buses into San Francisco are 2 minutes away or in 10 minutes you can be at the Sausalito Ferry, to ride in style into San Francisco. Use the bikes for amazing rides throughout the North Bay, or take the kayaks out for a water tour of Richardson Bay. Drive to the wine country or Point Reyes in under an hour!
